Personality:
    [Optimistic] It's hard to get Art down when the going is tough, she does her best to cheer up those who are down. It's hard for her to see the bad in others.
    [Kind] Willing to help anyone, Artemis will put aside her own needs for others.
    [Loyal] Once she has committed herself to you, Art will stick through until the very end.
    [Adventurous/Information Sponge] Artemis dreams of travelling to different places of the world, learning of the different cultures and customs that live far away.
    [Introverted] Not exactly one to love being center of attention, Art prefers to stay at the edge of fun social gatherings.
    [Sarcastic] Full of little quips and comments, it is often her tongue that gets her in trouble. Good thing she is light on her feet!

Background:

      Artemis' mother (named Acai) was pregnant about a month when she was plucked from her home in south Africa by a poacher. She was quickly sold to a rich man who collected large cats to breed strong stock for Colosseum battles. Since he bred carefully to produce the strongest and fastest cats, he had no need for Acai's cubs, and planned to sell them as 'training toys' for the Colosseum cats. Acai gave birth to 3 cubs, 2 having the similar sandy colors of their mother, and Artemis. The breeder's plans for the newborn cub immediately changed when he gazed upon Art's pelt. He knew he would be beyond wealthy if he could produce more blue hued cubs. The two sandy cubs were immediately removed to be sold while Artemis was left with her mother. Acai knew something horrible had happened to her cubs, and her instinct told her that something would happen to the remaining one. The new mother prayed for a miracle, and a miracle did come.  A couple of weeks later, Acai awoke to the sounds of hushed mews and growls. A group of ferox felines has come to their rescue! The brave felines had just managed to open a few cages when their mission was compromised by the guard dog, which started baying after spotting one of the falcons. The team started rushing the few newly freed cats out, of which Acai and Artemis were not. As they one by one hurried out the window, Acai called out to a bob cat for help. He attempted to open the cage, but to no avail. Acai heard the sounds of voices and knew that the human would stop him and she and her cub would never escape. That’s when she realized what she had to do. Quickly, Acai grabbed her sleeping cub and pushed her through the bars toward the feline, luckily Artemis was just small enough to fit through. The male grasped the cub’s scruff with his teeth and made a hasty retreat. Acai watched with a heavy heart as they left, knowing she would never see her baby again.

            As soon at the rescue party had safely left Rome, Art was taken to the Ferox camp, where she was fostered by a female tiger (named Yali) that had recently lost her only cub. Since Acai never told them the name she gave Artemis, her foster mother was allowed to name her. Yali chose the name Artemis because she strongly believed that if she honored the Greek Goddess by naming her foster cub after her, Artemis (the goddess) would be with Art to help her hunt and protect her from any harm.

               After Artemis had been inducted into the Ferox apprentices, Yali decided she wanted to leave Ferox for Solus. She had grown distant from her comrades, and decided it would be better if she was not here. No one took this harder than Artemis. She knew Yali wasn’t her biological mother (Yali told her about Acai, although she didn’t know her name), but she was her mom, none the less. She and Yali had a strong bond from the beginning and although Art understood she had to leave, it still hurt. Art vowed to make Yali proud, and hoped to one day find her real mother and save her from her human captors.

    Quirk/Habit:
        Artemis likes to collect items that remind her of life moments. Ex. Her necklace was made from a rock she found her first time out.
        Artemis sometimes sleeps with a paw in her mouth. No reason as to why she does this.
        Since her pelt is so light, Art covers herself with mud to help blend in.
        When she gets older, the tuft on the back of her neck will recede, leaving the fur smooth.
        Acai did name Artemis when she was born, but it is unknown what that name is. If Art is ever reunited with her mother, it will be revealed.
    Items:
        A scarf given to her at a young age, doesn't always wear it unless it is cold outside.
        A necklace made from a rock, always worn.

(couldn't find any of my old rp's, so I made one up on the fly using my Oc Rift)

    Rift's muzzle barely hovered above the ground as he desperately searched for prey. He hadn't eaten anything in the last few days and his stomach wouldn't let him forget it. Shut up. He thought quietly as his belly gave another howl. Keep making noises that loud and you'll chase off the prey. That seemed to quiet it, for now. As he lowered his head to sniff the ground again, he thought he saw the grass move out of the corner of his eye, making him freeze altogether. Slightly turning his head, he confirmed that there was indeed something over in the grass. The scent of rabbit trickled into his nostrils and his mouth instantly watered. Just a few yards away was his ticket to living one more day in this damned world.
    Slowly moving into a crouch, Rift watched as a rabbit crawled out of the grass and headed for a patch of clovers near it, not taking any notice to the starving saber wolf some yards away. Silently, Rift slinked forward. Paws glided over the frosted ground, barely disturbing the somewhat dead growth as he closed the distance. Soon. He thought to his belly, causing it to sing out the most unearthly song. The rabbit jumped up and attempted to make a getaway.
    No time to think about it, Rift sprung into action, literally. He pounced, just barely catching the rabbit. Unfortunately, being starved for three days left Rift unsteady, and he tripped over himself. The rabbit lay there for a moment, dazed, before realizing it was free and raced off, seeming to take a new shine to life. Rift just lay there on the ground, watching his food get away. Finally closing his eyes, he sighed deeply. Looks like he would just have to try again...

(Kinda depressing, I know, but things don't always go well for our characters, and it's a bit of a bore when they do.)
