Soooo.... yea...
being fairly honest, I don't like core, so much I semi-animated it. TAKE THAT SOCIETY! (lolnobutrlly I wanted to take a more comedic approach to it)
The number one thing that turned me off about core was the fact that dA did not give us notice what so ever. Someone could of at the very least put up a journal saying "Yo, we changin' up dis site's preemies a bit. Hold on userzzz, you bout to see sum real shit." ... Well, not exactly like that, but you get the point. dA used to be a pro-user kind of place, now It honestly feels like they don't care what we think, just as long as they keep making money. (Plus I liked saying 'preemie', it sounded cute. 'Corrie' on the other hand, sounds like you're talking about some dude...)
I get that some people would hate it regardless how it was announced, but I feel like the response would have been much better if we didn't have the rug snatched out from beneath us.
That and Jesus Christ can't we do something about that horrid color?!
Also, before someone says it: I'm not saying you guys shouldn't like it, if you want to throw more of your money at dA for a 'special' neon star, you have my blessing. I, on the other hand, will not be doing so unless they make a journal explaining this mess. I believe dA owes it's community/money-source that much.

I haven't been on DeviantART as long as you have (I joined on October 31, 2013) but I remember seeing that art thieves, trolls, underaged kids, etc. would be banned, that staff would post journals and things like that. I was happy they seemed to actually pay attention to users. Now you can steal art and get away with it. They posted a journal saying it wasn't stealing unless it was a physical painting (for example), though those probably weren't their exact words. I don't think I could find it again, I only saw it because it was in my notifications.
I didn't really care that the prices for Core are higher. It would be nice if they were less so I could buy one, but I understand they need the actual money. The lower price allowed many people to easily buy it with points, which aren't really money, even if they were originally bought with money.
The new Core star thing looks horrible, but I've gotten used to it. I would of expected it to look better ESPECIALLY THAT THIS IS AN ART WEBSITE. X'D
